Positive Discipline

The definition of discipline is to train or develop by instruction and exercise especially in self-control. The early care will use positive methods of discipline to encourage self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-control. For example, redirecting a child to another activity, distracting a younger child from a problem situation, recognizing and encouraging acceptable behavior, while teaching them that certain actions or behavior is unacceptable (and why), and encouraging children to cooperate with others and solve problems by talking things out. The child's behavior will be evaluated based on age appropriate behavior and development standards.
